Annual International Forum The 15th Ecumenical Social Week “Wondering Identity: Considering Meanings and Values” will take place on October, 3 – 7, 2022 in Lviv (with online attendance option).
The program includes: discussions, seminars, panels with speakers from 15 countries.
The events are divided into three units:
I. Edges of Identity: Religious, National, Ethnical, Cultural and Political
ІІ. Identity, War and Migration
ІІІ. The Role and Impact of Various Social Institutions on the Identity Formation
Free attendance, thus anyone can join, you just need to register:

The events will be held in the Ukrainian language with simultaneous interpreting into English, German and French (some events).
The speakers include: Myroslav Marynovych, a Vice-rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University, Yaroslav Hrytsak, historian, Jörg Lüer, Head of the “Justice and Peace” Commission, Seyla Benhabib, a Professor of Political Studies and Philosophy at Yale University, Gerard Delanty, a sociologist and a Professor of Sociology and Social Political Thought at Sussex University and others.
Organizers: Institute of Ecumenical Studies, Ukrainian Catholic University, Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung in Ukraine.
Experts and partners: Evangelical Church of Germany and the Ecumenical Institute of the Catholic University in Paris, Vienna University, International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations of the National University “Lviv Polytechnics”, Institute of Church History of UCU, Analytical Center of UCU, Lviv City Council.

Das Institut für Ökumenische Studien in Kooperation mit der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, der Evangelischen Kirche Deutschland und dem Ökumenischen Institut der Katholischen Universität Paris

Das jährlich stattfindende internationalen Forum „Ökumenische Soziale Woche“ (ÖSW) bringt offizielle Repräsentanten und Medienvertreter, soziale Organisationen, Kirchen, Bildungsmitarbeiter und Jugendorganisationen zusammen, um aktuelle gesellschaftliche Probleme zu lösen – ausgehend von gemeinsam geteilten Werten, der kirchlichen Soziallehre und den Prinzipien nachhaltiger Entwicklung.

Das Forum wird zurzeit als eine Online-Veranstaltung geplant. Sollte es die Situation zulassen, wird es die Möglichkeit geben, zum Veranstaltungsort nach Lwiw zu kommen.

Die Arbeitssprachen sind: Englisch, Französisch, Deutsch und Ukrainisch (inkl. Simultanübersetzung).

Das diesjährige Forum erforscht unterschiedliche Aspekte menschlicher und gemeinschaftlicher Identitäten in der Moderne. Durch das Prima eines interdisziplinären Ansatzes soll die semantische Vielfalt betrachtet und (u.a.) folgende Fragen diskutiert werden:

L’Institut d'études œcuméniques de l'UCU en partenariat avec Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung, l'Église luthérienne allemande et l’ Institut Supérieur d’Etudes Œcuméniques (ISEO) de l’Institut Catholique de Paris

Le forum international annuel, la Semaine sociale œcuménique (SSŒ), réunit les ressources de la société, des autorités, des médias, des organisations sociales, des Églises, des éducateurs et des organisations de jeunesse dans le but d'aborder des problèmes sociaux pertinents, sur la base des valeurs humaines communes, de la doctrine de l'Église et des principes du développement durable.

L’événement aura lieu principalement on-line, avec une possibilité de venue sur place de façon limitée et en fonction de l’évolution de la situation.

Les langues de travail seront l’anglais, le français, l’allemand et l’ukrainien, avec traduction simultanée.

Durant le forum, nous voulons explorer et discuter diverses « facettes » de l'identité humaine et communautaire dans le monde moderne. Nous nous focaliserons sur plusieurs aspects, en les considérant à travers le prisme de l'interdisciplinarité, et aborderons des questions telles que :

The annual international forum “Ecumenical Social Week” (ESW) unites the resources of a community, authorities, mass media, social organizations, Churches, educators and youth organizations in an attempt to address relevant social issues, based on the common human values,  social teaching  of  the church and the sustainable development principles.

The event will take place mainly online, with a possibility to come to the venue, depending on the situation.

The working languages will be English, French, German and Ukrainian with a simultaneous interpretation.

Russia’s original invasion plan directed in particular at simultaneous seizure of Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odesa, with the aim to change power in Ukraine, has failed. The Russian side has regrouped the major part of its troops to eastern Ukraine with the aim to occupy the entire territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and to secure the land corridor to Crimea across the city of Mariupol (despite earlier statements that it had no territorial ambitions in Ukraine), preferably until 9 May. Ukraine’s coast of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov is blocked. In the meantime, Russia continues launching missile and bomb strikes on military and civilian infrastructure throughout Ukraine:
