September, 24 - 30 already in the fifth time in Lviv will be held the Ecumenical Social Week (ESW). This year's topic of public forum is "The future of democracy in Ukraine." To participate in the Week are traditionally invited representatives from all churches.

The are expected clergy from Ukraine and Italy, known professors from Canada, the Netherlands, Poland, guests from France, Austria, Germany, USA. Participants will discuss cooperation between the government, NGOs, church organizations, educators and representatives of the business community to develop and implement such projects as inclusive education, social enterprise, microcrediting.

 

"After five years of work the ESW has achieved certain results, which we can now talk about. First of all, we have managed to establish a "bridge" of cooperation with different cities of Ukraine and to create a national network of Ecumenical social weeks. This achievement gives us a good resource, regardless of location, learn from each other how to build your region, your country, create new projects together with the communities of cities, churches. From the beginning of the year we’ve been traveling around Ukraine representing our Lviv experience, found persons holding the same views, and we will develope the project with the updated team "- says the organizer of Social Week Iryna Kitura.

Except conferences, "round tables", in the program of forum - fair of social organizations, concerts. There are interesting activities for youth: working workshop which will consider the attitude of young people towards democracy. Also, will be interesting to visit the prayerful Day of Trust, prepared jointly with the ecumenical Christian community of Taize, France.
